Details of Qatar

For now, more trees. More shrubs, more bushes, more leaves, more branches, more insects marching in a row. For now, I conserve my brain cells (and grander thoughts) for the upcoming 2 weeks of 7 final exams I have to write. For now, enjoy these photos of Doha, Qatar. The Middle East is a place that remains a mystery to many Westerners, and still to me even though I have visited. I would love to return, to visit my friends in Qatar again, to see Dubai, Bahrain, Yemen, Oman, Iran, Jordan, Israel. I just want to see it all. Have you ever visited the Middle East? ____________________________________________________________________ Please find me on Facebook, twitter and Instagram. Say...

Are You There Spring? It’s Me, Colleen....

Mar 11, 2015 by

I feel like I’m poking my head out of my bomb shelter for the first time, or like I’m a turtle emerging from her shell after a particularly brash jostling. Yesterday, I saw grass for the first time in months! Today, I wore a light spring coat! Today the steering wheel of my car wasn’t painfully frigid! Details Of Jaipur

Oct 25, 2014 by

India is the kind of place that oozes visual appeal. The intricacies of the buildings, the decor, all the sights and fabrics and brilliance the place has to behold are pungently and potently too much for the senses. It is the most photogenic place I have ever been. It is hard to take a bad picture there. Each frame and fragment of life I saw with my eyes begged to be immortalized. Here are some of my favourite snaps from Jaipur.     Have you ever been to Jaipur? _______________________________________________________________________________ Please don’t forget to like my Facebook page, and follow me on twitter and Instagram...

Bookends: Shek O & The Caribbean...

Feb 25, 2014 by

Every trip comes with its struggles, just as every day comes with its tribulations. While I was staying with my friend Jess in Shek O, I saw this magnet on her fridge: “Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities have crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day. You shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.” I stopped, read the words and thought about it for a while before I lifted my camera and snapped that picture. They were words I decided I wanted to remember. This approach to life is not a foreign concept to me, but this was worded so poignantly that I had to...
