SAS #7, Turkish Delight
If the last post of Shit Achilles Says is any indication of what I will share with you, imagine what I won’t share with you…
Now, onto today’s post.

After a nice, long, relaxing day in Leiden of giant breakfasts and snacks from the market and lazing by the river eating cherries in warm air and warm breeze, it was time to start thinking about dinner. It didn’t take long before Achilles and his friends started talking about the cumin lamb that Achilles makes, and then once it was brought up, they wouldn’t stop talking about how amazing it is.
On our walk back from the park, we stopped into a little Turkish convenience store to load up on the goods. Achilles manned the lamb purchasing, and I eyed the Turkish delights and the olives. There was a super cute Turkish guy behind the counter who was apparently eyeing me. When I noticed him, we shared flirtacious looks, and Achilles was quick to catch on. He eavesdropped on the conversation he was having behind the counter with his buddy in Dutch, and later, Achilles filled me in on the juicy details of what they were saying.
When we left the store, Achilles joyfully swung his bag full of lamb meat, as if he were lifting weights, and he sung out a made-up song, “Pump some iron, pump some lamb.”
Then he looked at me and said, “Hey, that guy knew how to cut the bone off the lamb’s leg. You should go out with him.”
Of course I should.
