the Sartorialist by Colleen

The Sartorialist has begun accepting vintage photos once again. I have submitted this one of my grandfather. I know that there must be thousands of submissions flooding in, so I am not bothered if this photo is not chosen to appear on the blog. I just adore this photo. My heart skipped a beat when I saw it!
Here is the blurb I submitted to go with the photo:
“My grandfather comes from a small town in northern Manitoba (in Canada). Here he is at 22, having come to Winnipeg to write exams for his job. At the time he was working on planes and flying all over the province. He is so dashing in this photo! I love his jacket and the patch on it, which is bead work done by Aboriginal women up north. I think that this photo shows that style is not just in what you wear, but in how you walk.”

  1. This made my year. I miss Papa so much. Clearly this is where we get our style from.
