Vi ses is Danish for “see you.”
Tonight I will be seeing my Danish family, and I haven’t seen them since 2009. They are traveling around Canada at the moment, something they do from time to time. They love Canada, and they’ve even told me that they don’t care to travel anywhere else. They’ve got plenty of friends here and distantly connected family (like me!), and there’s always the promise of tasty treats and cold beer.
What more could you want?
Tonight, I’m making guacamole for my Danish hygge.

  1. I came across to your site. The photos on this post made me miss Sweden where lived for one year. Maybe because these two countries are very close geographically. And, “See you” in Swedish is “Vi ses” too.
